The building was originally a cistercian monastery, then a nobleman’s residence before becoming in 1990 a luxury 14 bedroom hotel. The family owners offer the warmest welcome and take pride in the gorgeously decorated rooms and quite delicious meals. There is a small garden where you can take your evening aperitif, and two restaurants, one for the Gourmand and other for the Gastronomic..overseen by Daniel Stein, a Michelin starred chef.

What can you do besides relax and eat? Admire the colourful architecture and the old churches. Welcoming winstubs offer coffee and cakes and lunchtime tarte flambee. Meander among the stalls of the Tuesday and Saturday market. Take the train to Colmar, the romantic ‘little Venice’ area and the tanners’ Quarter where the houses are half timbered. Spend a morning following the Wine Route through the medieval villages, wine tasting.
