A charming 15th century lady’s château in the Dordogne, Southwest France
A delightful, recently refurbished lady’s château, known as a chartreuse, with ten very elegant, individually designed bedrooms and a lovely relaxing atmosphere where you will feel like a guest rather than a client. There is a private cinema in the basement and a pool in the garden from which there are magnificent views.
What can you do besides relax and eat?
Taste the Bergerac wines at a friend’s vineyard close by, book a morning’s horseriding among the vines, take a walk to the next village for a mid-morning coffee, ride a bike slowly enough to smell the wild flowers, visit a local market to admire and buy some regional produce. Spend a day canoeing on the river Dordogne, or on a train trip to visit Lascaux caves.
3 nights per person sharing twin/double room £927
